The rent is around €360 with €70 utility costs. There is a one-time contract cost of €150 and no further deposit. The room is considered social housing which means you may earn at most €39.000 annually to move in. Huurtoeslag (rent allowance) is possible. You can register at the gemeente.
Amsterdam Oost. We are situated on the third floor of a historic building. Unfortunately, there is no elevator present. The house is located 15 minutes by bike from the city center and easily reachable by public transport.
The apartment is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, and various kitchen appliances. Recently a pup has joined our community, so allergies might be an issue for some. We have a large shared studio, a separate living room, storage space, and a lovely roof terrace.
The room is south-facing and around 14m2 in size. The toilet and bathroom are shared with two other housemates. Please note that noise travels easily in the house. You will hear others and others will hear you. Due to COVID-19, many of us work from home which intensifies this. Applicants sensitive to noise should consider if they can work with that.
Description coliving group
An important part of living here is sharing and caring for our house, and each other. We all contribute to our household in different ways with construction projects, emptying out the dishwasher, some more than others, caring for our plant companions, caring for humans, taking over cleaning duties, mediating and resolving conflicts, and doing administration. There are house meetings on a regular basis to make this home-brew of chores and commitments fly.
Our community is international, but we have all been in Amsterdam for a while. We share inspirations, wisdom, dinners, board games, professional collaborations, and the responsibility for our house and community. Many of us become friends but this isn't a requirement; respect, interest, and openness to another's experiences are.
Area66 is an international community of 9 people and a dog living in one large apartment in Amsterdam Oost. Our ages range from 30 to 46 (dog not included). We work in fields such as food, public service, healthcare and culture, and often have creative projects running along.
We are looking for a housemate in our age range who is mature, empathetic, generous, kind, clean, and ready to be inconvenienced at times. Community spirit is crucial because we do more than just coexist.
Interested? Follow the provided link and let us know how old you are, where you are from, what you do for a living, how long you plan on living in Amsterdam, why you want to live in a group, or anything else you want to share. Knowing Dutch is an advantage, in order to help with administrative tasks. Our main conversation language is English although we are quite multilingual. We are aware of the discrimination that certain groups -- including people of color, ethnic minorities, non-binary and trans people, people with disabilities, and others -- face when looking for a place to live. We want to play our part and encourage you to apply. However, the apartment is not wheelchair accessible.
Your application needs to be sent by Saturday, 30 January 2021. Applications received after this date will not be considered. We will contact people on the first weekend of February and conduct interviews according to COVID-19 safety protocols on Sunday the 14th of February. The suggested moving in date is March 1st.
We will invite people whose letter spoke to us to see our house, the rooms and meet the current housemates. Due to the number of reactions we usually get, please understand we can't usually respond to requests for details. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
