We are a living group of 11 artists looking for a space to become our new home and living group. We are photographers, writers, musicians, theatermakers, mimers, dancers, illustrators, designers and many other things - so we are open to your discipline and practice. We are a diverse (in the broadest sense; think gender/sexuality, culturally etc.) mixture of Dutch and international folks.
As a living group, we have a nice dynamic of caring and giving space for one another. One can choose to spend time with the group or to take time for themselves. We give support to each other personally and sometimes creatively. On occasion we have spontaneous dinners and collaborations continue to happen between us in the creative field. The expectation from one another is that everyone cleans up after themselves, performs their house tasks and is good to one another.
Between each other we understand the importance of clear and honest communication, taking care of one's own mess and participating in the upkeep of the house. We think first about how our actions impact the group and the living space. As we are living now, we share a large space - a former lecture hall - that is our common (living) room and kitchen. We also share two toilets and three showers. Everyone in the house has a regular task that helps with the upkeep and we rotate the garbage responsibility every week. We all try to find ways to improve the space (like plant spa in our shower room or finding a new way to organise the lids for pans). We try to have regular house meetings to see each other, check in and discuss living group matters. We are looking for a place in or around Amsterdam, where we share living/bathroom/kitchen space but still have our own bedrooms and privacy. Something that could feel like our space now, but we are flexible and up to adapt to spaces that are different in some way. We can find solutions. Best would be a space that could host us all. It might feel like a long shot, but we are up to try!
