The rent is calculated using a solidarity system that's based off your monthly income. It averages around €370,- but it can be more or less. There's also a monthly contribution to the house pot, from which we buy organic food in bulk, a weekly vegetable package and anything else that we might need for around the house.
In the city centre of Nijmegen,15 minutes (by foot) away from the train station, 1 minute away from the closest supermarket and 3 minutes away from a bus stop.
The building includes two living groups, a volunteer-led political café, a music venue, and an anarchist library. The building also houses different non-profit organisations.
The living group shares a vegan kitchen, bathrooms and a roof terrace. Because the living spaces are on the first and second floor of a building with only staircases, it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
The room that's available is very spacious and has two large windows overlooking the street below.
Description coliving group
The living group consists of two groups of 7 people. We all share an interest in (non-parliamentary) politics and activism. We regularly have dinner together, movie nights, house meetings, and volunteer in the café and music venue downstairs.
Right now our group consists people from 23-31 years old of different genders. Our interests are also super varied, ranging from (making) music and dancing to, art, skateboarding, electronics, DIY culture, plants, anti-racist memes, Star Wars, radical queer politics, and a lot more.
We're looking for a new housemate who enjoys cooking and having dinner together and who wants to participate with the things that are going on around the house, like designing flyers and banners, organising actions, volunteering at the Klinker or De Onderbroek, going to monthly meetings, and many more options. We work to make the house a safe space away from bigotry and will therefore give priority to people of colour and people with non-cis gender identities. Therefore, consider not applying if you are a cis white man.
If you're interested in becoming our new housemate, send an email to email@example.com and tell us why you want to live here! Experience with similar collective, self-organising living situations is a plus!
