Dear house seekers in Haarlem,
We are two friends (males, both 27) who have managed to secure a beautiful rental house in Haarlem. With our three bedrooms, we are now looking for a housemate to create a cozy mini living group. Your room will be the top room, kind of an attic. The house has lots of natural light. We have not fully furnished it yet (moved since 3 weeks) so the pictures are not that fantastic.
We chose Haarlem and this house for three reasons:
Proximity to nature - both the dunes and the beach are nearby.
Location - Amsterdam is easily accessible. It takes only 6 minutes by bike to reach Haarlem station, from where a train departs every 5 minutes, arriving at Amsterdam Central Station within 15 minutes.
Peace and quiet - it's a nice quiet neighborhood here full of families.
About us:
We, Levi and Thomas, are two friends who met during our studies in Physics.
We wanted to live together in a cozy environment. There's nothing better than coming home to people without having to schedule an appointment in your agenda.
We are both laid-back, and for two guys, surprisingly clean, believe it or not ;)
In our free time, one of us enjoys yoga and meditation while the other likes gaming.
What are we looking for?
It would be nice if you are in a similar stage of life as us.
We love to hang out on the couch and chill, talking about anything and everything. Of course, it's never an obligation; feel free to withdraw if you need to.
Although we are men and have studied physics, we are both quite sensitive in our own ways, so you can be too.
The house has thin walls and a narrow kitchen. Therefore, we have thought of a few things that we hope will facilitate smooth living:
Firstly, a somewhat similar routine. We both work and therefore wake up around (7-8) and go to bed fairly early (21-23). The house is a bit noisy. Therefore, having a similar routine among the three of us would be nice. Playing dubstep through your speakers at 2am is not gonna work.
Secondly, the kitchen is small, so it would be easy and pleasant if one person cooks dinner alternately. If you have many specific dietary requirements and need to prepare all meals yourself, we think it will be too much hassle for all of us. Of course, we can also adapt, and you don't have to be present every night, but you get the idea.
We will make a schedule for cleaning and cooking. Flexibility here too. We will agree on what to do with dirty dishes, etc. We have a dishwasher, so that's nice. Rent must be transferred by a certain date.
Rent details:
€675/month excluding utilities (< €100/month)
€1000 deposit.
From April 1, 2024, to February 1, 2026 (almost 2 years)
2 months' notice period from us. 1 month from you.
Subletting without the landlord's knowledge.
To minimize the risk of hassle, we're not sharing the address just yet.
Registration with the municipality is possible.
