Hi lovely people, we are a group of five, living together in the beautiful eco community Iewan in the north of Nijmegen (Lent). We search for a subrenter from beginning June (possibly earlier) until the end of October. Our place is located directly at the river Waal behind the dike, 5 minutes walk to beautiful nature, 10 minutes cycling to the city and supermarkets close by. A really sweet spot to be honest :)
Iewan:
Our group is part of the bigger community Iewan, a sustainable, ecological building project, that consists of around 53 inhabitants. In our house we live with the five of us, where we share the kitchen and bathroom. With the bigger community we share a beautiful garden, our commnity space „de kleine Wiel“ where we have concerts, movie nights, sunday brunch, yoga etc., washing mashines and our cute organic shop „de Voko“ that we all love and we have some shared activities like the klusdag once a month. - Current composition

...Who are we?
Jeltje: My name is Jeltje, I am 27 years old and I live in Iewan since February. Before I’ve lived in an off-grid community in Southern Spain for 1,5 years and I’m very happy that now I am able to continue the communal and eco life here at Iewan. What I love doing in my daily life is walking along the river with Río, picknicking, dancing, journaling, camping, laughing, playing games, and listening to people making music. I am passionate about topics like community building, non-violent communication, authentic relating, play, non-formal education and sociocracy.
Río: Río is an adorable middle-sized dog with big bat ears who is currently fully enjoying his puberty (2 years old). Río’s and Jeltje’s paths crossed in Spain, where Jeltje adopted him and brought him with her to the Netherlands. If you are looking for more play, cuddles, walks, laughs, and heart-warming eye gazes in your daily life, he’s the perfect addition to this house for you!
Philip: “I am 34 years old. I am a musician, and I’m constantly resisting the urge to learn yet another new instrument. I mostly work from home, and having space and time to myself is important to me. I’m always down for a good talk, though - there’s about a thousand topics that I have absolutely no professional or academic background in that still interest me immensely, including philosophy, spirituality, psychology, literature and maaany more. I have a bunch of nerdy hobbies and a handful of friends and family members that mean the world to me, and I have yet to fully let go of my wild adolescent side.”
Pien:
Hi there, I am Pien (25) and, I am working with refugees throughout my week. When off work, I am outside as much as possible by going on (mini) adventures. Cycling and camping, with friends or solo, is what makes me happiest but also love going on walks with Rio and reading books along the Waal. At home you will find me humming away, making coffees, being around friends and family and cooking whilst listening to some lovely tunes.
Julie: I’m 25 years old and I’m graduating from my studies Creative Writing at ArtEZ. I like to write, read, sing, play the guitar, doing yoga and meditation. Also I love going outside, especially into the forrest. Inside the house you’ll find me listening to music and singing along, cooking, making kombucha or searching the deepest depths of the internet for ultra lightweight camping gear.
Naiomi: Well I guess adventurer is a suitabel description for me at the moment as I am traveling Europe with my Van for one year. So it´s my room that you would be renting. I´m 31 (my goddes, what a number :D ), love travelling, dancing, making music together and try to dedicate my life to my personal and spiritual growth. So that´s also what drew me to go discover conscious communities and spiritual places around Europe, so maybe see you somewhere in the wordl or when I´m coming back. - Ideal resident

Ideal resident:
We are looking for someone between the ages of 23 and 37 with a heart for social and sustainable living. Someone with a mindset of caring and responsibility for the people, places and things around you; easy going and familial. Students are welcome, but realise that we are not a ‘student house‘ as such 😉
Note: Meetings (kijkavonden) will take place probably in the week 22-28th of April. And it´s not possible to register (inschrijven) for the period of subrenting.
