Location
We live in the Biezen neighbourhood, close to the Waal river. It’s a 10 minute walk to the city centre and 15 to the train station. If you’re cycling, it’s about 15 minutes to the Ooij nature reserve and 20 minutes to Heumensoord forest.
Common space(s)
We share a living room with kitchen, bathroom, toilet, basement, storage shed and a sunny garden between the four of us. Across the road we have a larger shared garden with sheds for shared tools and gardening equipment.
Private spaces(s)
The room gets sun in the morning, is approximately 16 m2 in total, divided between the main room and a second, smaller sleeping and storage/chill space. The main room has a built-in wardrobe, and the sleeping room has a built-in high-sleeper bed and lots of storage room underneath (standing-room for anyone up to 150cm tall!).
Description coliving group
The living association consists of five houses in the same street, and altogether there are 24 people living here. The four houses on the opposite side have the shared garden, and our back garden is private. We often visit each other to hang out, and we sometimes have activities organised by different members or houses. Every summer we organise Bronsfeest, a big theme-party which we create altogether, and we invite friends.

It’s very important that our new housemate is enthusiastic about living in a co-living group, and is willing to put effort into the community. We have a number of committees, and each house has a representative, so we share those responsibilities between the four of us living at number 34 (Bèr is pretty useless at this so we leave him out). It is also mandatory for all members to be present for the General Members Assembly (twice a year, sometimes with extra if there is a specific need), and to be present for the maintenance and repair weekends which are at fixed times four times per year.
Current composition
At 34 we live together with four human people, Christina (41), Roel (35), and Aniek (35), and one extremely expressive orange cat, Bèr (~4). Christina is Irish and Roel, Aniek, and Bèr are Dutch, and we speak a mix of Dutch, English and various feline noises. We’re a close-knit house and we’re looking for a new housemate who wants to be involved and connected. We have a cooking schedule (we eat together at least 4 times per week taking turns to plan and make dinner for each other). Now that it’s winter we like to watch silly little tv-shows, have lots of tea, and do spontaneous things together out of the house.

As we’re writing this, Roel is in the kitchen looking for something he can pickle. He is our top chef - everything he touches in the kitchen turns into either pickles or delicious magic food (often-times both). If he’s not working his magic in the kitchen, he reads any book he can find, especially something philosophical.

Christina is our creative brain, she loves all sorts of crafts and has a new hyper fixation every month 😊 You can imagine we learn a lot from Christina. She also likes Dungeons and Dragons, yoga, cosy little chats over a homemade hot chocolate, and is busy with her psychology studies. She is also thinking about getting a dog at some stage, so our new housemate needs to be dog-loving or at least kindly dog-tolerating (and not allergic).

Aniek is continuously surprised to find that her days do not, in fact, have the 32 hours that she needs to fit in everything she wants to do. She loves to be outside, road- and mountain bike, hike, run, cook huge portions, and brings loud laughs and gezelligheid with her when she gets home from work.

Bèr’s hobbies include telling us all the gossip he’s heard on the street during the day, staring wistfully out the window contemplating murder, snuggling up on the couch and purring like a jet engine, trying to explain to us that he will simply wither away if he doesn’t get a bigger scoop of wet food in the evening, dramatically throwing himself at the mercy of concerned passers-by so convincingly that they think he’s been locked outside all day long and ring the doorbell on his behalf, and asking to go outside again less than 5 minutes later.
Ideal resident
We’re looking for someone who brings their own signature to the house, who wants to create a family feeling, and is LGBTIQ+ friendly. On top of that, it would be a big plus if you like pickles, ridiculous ginger cats, and chats.

If you’re interested in becoming our new housemate, send us a message telling us about yourself to 34@ardebrons.nl (preferably before the 13th of December).

We’re inviting people on the 17th and 22nd of December, so keep that night free if you’re interested. If you think you’d be the perfect match but you really can’t make it work on those dates, please still contact us. Hopefully see you then!
