Ideal location
I love trees, but I also love city-centres and cute neighbourhoods . So a city with trees would be great.
I'd like to be able to bike around, walk in parks and if possibly live in a multi-cultural neighbourhood.
Ideal space
I am looking for a room as my own cocoon-space, and a shared kitchen with friendly chaos, shared spices and herbs, a shared living room of warmth, books and chatter, maybe even a balcony or garden (DREAM).
Sharing facilities seems logical to me, in this world of housing problems and the need to live more sustainably together. Lucky me - that likes sharing things. And yes, keeping things clean in the midst of the chaos of living.
And I do love colours. A space with colours.
Ideal group
I dream of a living in, and building a community that 'gives and shares life'. In which community life extends to the neighbours, passengers, the bees in the garden. In which 'sharing life' includes carrying one another through hard times, giving space when needed and sometimes doing one another's dishes. I would love it if there were music, art and a dog included in the community.
I dream of a 'life giving' community - with a sensitivity for sustainability, social justice and recognition of the beauty and complexity of simply 'life'.
So yes, shared meals (which could range from almost everyday to once a week or so).
Describe yourself
I have been 'co-living' for almost ten years - living on campus, sharing chaotic student houses, living with a young Colombian family, an older couple and five dogs on a farm and in a quiet ecumenical community in Utrecht. Varying experiences that have been enriching and enhancing flexibility and communication skills in their own ways ;).
A bit about me: I am Mirthe (she/her) a 26 year old anthropologist - currently doing research about religious (ecofeminist) resistance against mining in a Colombian rural area. This research topic reveals a bit of my involvement in feminist, environmental and social justice movements - personally inspired by critical/engaged theologies/spirituality.
Besides these 'grand topics' I love (making) jazz/folklore/classical music, book clubs, sea, mountains and wind in my hair, spontaneous chats with the neighbours, walking a dog, analogue photography, cold water swimming and climbing.
I hope you and your community are willing and able to share their roof with me!
( While Dutch is my mother-tongue, I chose to write in English so more of you would understand).
