Ideal location
We're looking for a spot in a leafy neighborhood that's got a bit of life to it – not a ghost town, you know? Easy access to either Den Haag Center or Utrecht Center is key, as a couple of us will be commuting for work and one for a Master's. If there are cool cultural spots nearby like cinemas, museums, community hubs, or even some decent bars, that's a massive bonus, but not a deal-breaker. Basically, green but not too quiet, and well-connected!
Ideal space
Ideally, we'd each have our own bedroom. We're big on shared vibes, so spacious common areas where we can all hang out, cook, and have cozy dinners together are a must. A balcony would be sweet, but a garden would be the absolute dream – extra points if it's big enough for some happy cats and maybe a small veggie patch!
Ideal group
We're all about building a real community vibe. Think shared dinners (we'd love a weekly house meal ritual!), collaborative home-making, and generally just being there for each other. We're all queer, and while our future housemates don't necessarily need to be, it's super important that it's a space of total acceptance and celebration of who we are. We're also drawn to folks who are into thinking a bit outside the box – maybe a bit radical, interested in exploring alternative ways of living and gently challenging the status quo. For us, living communally is already a step in that direction! Open communication and a desire to create something special together are huge for us.
Describe yourself
Hey! We're Agnese, Anna, and Za – a trio excited about finding a new place to call home and build some awesome community.
First up is Agnese (she/they, 26). I'm a therapist with a passion for abolitionist and community-centered approaches (happy to chat your ear off about it if we click!). Originally from Italy, I grew up in Sweden and have been kicking around the Netherlands for about 7 years now. When I'm not working, you'll find me crafting, but my biggest love is cooking – especially for the people I care about (that Italian blood runs deep!). I do a lot in the LGBTQIA+ community and also dabble in psychedelic research. I come with two furry overlords, Pippo and Nemo, who are around 3 years old.
Then there's Anna (she/her, 30), who's my wonderful partner. She hails from Southern Germany and is also a psychologist, working in psychedelic research and therapies. Anna's super creative – always painting, drawing, or making something cool. She's genuinely one of the kindest people you'll meet. We're in a polyamorous relationship, and Anna has another awesome partner, Kris. Like me, she's been in the Netherlands for about 7 years (we actually met during our Bachelor's at Leiden University!). Anna also has two sweethearts, Jane and Luna, who are total cuddle-bugs. (Yep, that's four cats in total! We know it's a crew, but with the right space and understanding, we're sure they'll bring loads of joy and purrs).
And last but definitely not least is Za (they/them)! Za is a dear friend, and we collaborate on a bunch of projects, including our pride and joy: a peer support group for trans and non-binary folks. Za is currently studying philosophy, leads body movement (ecstatic dance) classes bi-monthly, and hosts creative writing workshops. They're an incredibly creative and loving soul and will likely be starting a Master's program soon. Za is Swiss and has been in the Netherlands for about 3 years now.
We're all pretty content where we are now, but we're really feeling the pull for a change and a more intentional, community-focused way of living. We're looking for a place where we can not just live, but really thrive together with like-minded (or at least like-hearted!) people.
