The ideal location is close to Leiden University, either by foot, bike or public transport. We do not mind commuting if a house is situated close to public transport. We are both focused on our courses, sports and other activities.
Devana, in particularly, hopes to join a number of protest groups, trade unions and other formal/informal collectives.
Ideal space
The house should have 2 or more rooms in a all-female house. One for each of us. The house should ideally not be a party house, though both of us are happy to accommodate visitors like family and friends and host communal events like birthdays, Easter, Christmases and a yearly holiday.
Punya is a dedicated athlete, so she has early mornings and early nights.
Ideal group
We are flexible about this. Neither of us mind smokers, but neither of us do smoke.
Describe yourself
We are Devana and Punya. We are looking for either a room or an apartment in Leiden or a surrounding area for an early-January move. Registration is compulsory for our visas.
Tenant 1 is Devana, 31, from Sri Lanka. She is a former journalist hoping to become a philosopher. She is moving in mid-January to start her MA in Philosophy. Devana has a disability (fear of cats and dogs). So as long as there are no cats and dogs inside the houses or rooms, she is fine.
Tenant 2 is Punya Sharma, 22, from India. She is moving in end-January to start her MSc in Biology at Leiden University. Punya is quiet, responsible, and values a home environment that supports focused study.
Both of us are looking for a quiet and convenient home to study and live in. We are clean, tidy and responsible. We have both lived in share houses before and have participated in community gardens initiatives. We come from collective cultures and being in communal settings and practicing mutual aid comes naturally.
