Ideal location
Currently I live in the Bijlmer in Amsterdam, together with a friend with whom I bought a house. We bought this a few years ago so as to share the difficulties of finding housing in amsterdam, but my friend is now moving on to new adventures, and I can’t afford buying a house just like that. I’ve lived in Amsterdam for over a decade now, but I am not 100% tied to Amsterdam because, for one, I am not rich, but I also want to find myself closer to more trees and other nature around me.
Ideal space
A space where co-living is done and encouraged. I like to live alongside others and in the same spaces because individualism is kicking our asses all the time already. I'd rather look for a space where I can live in a healthy balance of independent and interdependent. I would like to find myself closer to nature these days, and with more calm. If I can go on a nature walk nearby that would be ideal, but I can find nature naywhere though.
Ideal group
I would like to find a group of people that like to do communal living to at least some extent. I am not afraid of interdependency, but do not want codependency with my living group. I appreciate the ways in which we can support and elevate one another in our communities, and enter communities with curiosity to be able to do that.
Describe yourself
I am a 32 year old nonbinary person (she/they) I love cooking with and for people and I enjoy eating together. I am very versatile in my interests and hobbies, but they are generally on the calmer side of things like cooking, spooncarving, crochet or shibari. I also have a variety of voluntary community work that I usually like to do. Mostly I think I like learning in general. I have lived together with people most of my (adult) life, and prefer it over living by myself. I have always had a good relationship with the people I’ve lived with. I like to communicate clearly, in general but specifically about house matters as well. I do my part and am proactive. In the past I’ve had success with having regular house meetings with people, so I also know how to organize and participate within a house. I am personally qutie easygoing, with my personal boudnaries of course. I tend to be clean, responsible and balanced between independent and interdependent. I have a degree in philosophy, and have had a number of jobs ranging from cab driver to healthcare work in the operating room in a hospital. I currently volunteer for things like trans health care and community building. I have an 18 year old cat named Molly. Depending on whether it is possible to bring her she might stay with my current housemate.
