Ideal location
Anything up to an hour distance to Amsterdam by train I will be working in Amsterdam, but I know how difficult and competitive the housing market is there, so I would be happy to commute and to find anything that is somehow within reach by train like Utrecht, Leiden, Haarlem and everywhere between.
Ideal space
I am very uncomplicated and open to everything. Furnished would be great but otherwise moving with my stuff is also no problem. Looking for a community from september 2026 to september 2027 but a shorter lease would also be okay
Ideal group
I would love to live together with people, for whom it is more than a shared-flat based on convenience but rather for people living together in an actual community and sharing their lives. Of course everybody has their private life, but I like cooking and eating together, crafting, doing garden work if a garden exists, taking care of stuff together and maybe even doing things outside of the house like going to events as a group. I am excited for diverse spaces, people from all ages, pets, queer and political people etc.

Hi, I'm Paula and I am really happy you found my listing! From September 2026 on I'll be volunteering with ASEED Europe (Action for Solidarity, Equality, Environment and Diversity) in Amsterdam, working on climate and social justice topics. I'll be in the office three days a week and I will look for an additional job for the other two days. I do have savings, so rent won't be an issue in the meantime. I recently quit my IT job in Germany to discover alternative ways of working and living and this is a big part of why I'm excited to move to the Netherlands. I am planning to stay for a year and would be fully committed to the group for that time. I don't want to just live alongside people, I'd rather want to build something together. I love cooking (vegan) meals for a group, taking on shared responsibilities and caring for the space we live in. Everyone needs their own time too of course, but I'd love for us to spend time together sometimes. Outside of work I am probably out in nature or hiking or bouldering or engaged in political and social causes, something I'm already doing actively here in Germany. I don't have pets myself, but I love animals of all kinds. I don't speak Dutch, but I am motivated to pick some up.
