Ideal location
My Ideal location is anywhere that has easy access to a good train station with quickish travel to Utrecht Centraal + Amsterdam. Nature is Wonderful but I've found hard to balance with the transit trade off, happy to be proven wrong on that however.
Ideal space
Ideally the room has at least around 15m^2, natural light and ventilation is always a plus. As far as condition I'm not too picky as long as things operate (mostly) properly, I am always enthusiastic for DIY projects or helping out on any work that might need doing. I really enjoy investing in a (shared) space that I can stay in for longer periods. Woodworking is a hobby I intend to get back into if that's ever useful - or if workspace is available that is a great plus.
As far as kitchen and common spaces my usual philosophy is to leave them in a clean or "fresh" state for whoever else may want to use it next.
Ideal group
Age/gender/orientation or whatever don't really matter to me, I've lived with many different people in many different stages of their lives/careers and get along with pretty much anyone as long as there is good faith effort to work on things.
I have lived with many groups and roommates and generally enjoy a casual and open living space. I have my own life, but it is nice to know and enjoy the company of those whom I share a home with. This atmosphere has been the most important factor in how much I've enjoyed different living situations.
Meal cooked together, a series/movie, or just catching up and chatting about our days are always nice.
I do come with a furry +1, Lamora my cat is extremely friedly to people and well trained. She's never caused any property problems but I will always take proactive responsibility for her. (Scratching posts, cleaning, whatnot)

My name is Dustin, I'm an international scientist living in Utrecht for the past two years and I am currently looking for new housing. I have really enjoyed the friends and communities that I’ve found here and am looking to stay in the area. I'm looking for, a nice group of diverse people that work together to create a nice shared home. I know I'm not Dutch but I'd really appreciate a shot if possible, learning more Dutch is a priority in the next year for me. I need to find a new affordable place soon to stay in the country.
I’m involved with the queer community through volunteering and lately I have really enjoyed getting more involved with the music and arts scene here in the Netherlands, volunteering at ACU, and helping build a queer space for upcoming Landjuweel. Recently I've started organizing events for the public showcasing research being done by local students/professor or other experts combined with art workshops lead by local artists. For hobbies/activities I love watching a good series, I play (mostly co-op) board games, PC games, like to boulder, cook, wood working (mostly making bowls/cups on the lathe) and enjoy pretty much anything active outdoors or in nature.
Mature and open communication is important to me, I have good interpersonal skills and seek to be kind and understanding towards others. Having a good sense of humor and perspective is vital to how I navigate my own life and any difficulties I face along the way. Ask me for some stories from my PhD and you'll hear why.
In the past I frequently found myself responsible for contact between the house and landlord, organizing tasks within the house, or coordinating any work/maintenance when it was needed. That's just to say that I'm willing to take up roles or responsibility when the house needs it.
